What is it like being the first employee at Lifetime Branding?
It’s not something I think about, but it’s been really neat to see the growth and to meet all the new team members.
What role does fear play in the life of a creative?
I try not to let fear play a huge role—although I am aware that there are moments of doubt that happen along the way.
What I am trying to say is I am not motivated by fear. When I think back on some of my favorite projects and the processes during those projects—fear was absent. I feel I do my best work when I am fully immersed in the task at hand, when I have the time and space to play and think, and when I am enjoying the process.
Oreos or gum balls?
Gum balls because it’s an activity and a treat in one. You can do more with it. Chew it. Blow bubbles. Sculpt.
I heard you like bananas?
You heard right. I love bananas. They are healthy but not boring.
What’s your proudest Halloween costume?
Nothing comes to mind right away. I was a blue crayon once capped with a blue wig. I even had the Crayola logo stitched on there.
“Katie Suggests” … can you recommend something that inspires you?
Looking to sources in different fields. I find athlete stories very inspiring and see sports as kind of a microcosm of life. A lot of times I will listen to interviews or podcasts of athletes to hear their story and inspire me to do better.
Fun fact—sometimes if I am working late and need some background noise, I will play a full Olympics events from different years just to hear commentators talk about the athletes and how they got to where they are.
